Job Summary:

Are you passionate about empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to grow and thrive in meaningful work? Our division is seeking a compassionate and skilled Vocational Production Supervisor/Job Coach to lead and support teams in community-based job settings and volunteer opportunities. This role plays a vital part in helping individuals build confidence, develop skills, and achieve personal success-while ensuring quality outcomes for our partners.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide on-site direction, coaching, and support to individuals in off-campus job placements and volunteer roles.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive work environment that encourages growth and self-esteem.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with community employers and partners.
  • Assess individuals' production capabilities and help develop tailored vocational programs.
  • Coordinate daily work schedules, prioritize tasks, and adapt workflows to meet evolving needs.
  • Modify equipment and workspaces to accommodate individual abilities and enhance productivity.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality completion of jobs, including special requests for priority customers.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes across all production stages.
  • Monitor and evaluate product quality, job flow, and overall performance, making adjustments as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with adolescents or adults who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Knowledge of:

  • record keeping;
  • effective methods of supervision and motivation; and,
  • the needs of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.


Ability to:

  • manage a budget;
  • manage an inventory;
  • motivate and direct the work of others;
  • communicate information clearly and concisely;
  • plan, organize and schedule workloads; and,
  • reorganize and reschedule workloads.


This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
