Position Title: Production Supervisor-Welding – Day Shift

AGI Hi Roller manufactures a line of premier commercial enclosed, dust-tight and self-reloading conveyors, designed for installation in grain handling facilities, soy and corn processing operations and industrial operations. It specializes exclusively in the design and application of conveyors which will not only contain dust and spilled materials but will also automatically reload that material back on the carrying surface of the belt.
The Opportunity
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for providing supervision, administration, and technical direction for department team members and ensure work is occurring in an efficient and effective manner. Through coordinating with various departments, the Production Supervisor ensures that production requirements are met to assist in the smooth flow of order to delivery, all while adhering and contributing to a strong safety culture.
The Team
Our large production team consists of powder coaters, welders, assemblers, metal fabricators, and more. As a Production Supervisor you will provide leadership to a number of direct reports within the Welding department.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and monitor department performance for Safety, Quality, 5S and Productivity.
Responsible for communicating daily production goals and reporting status to Production Manager.
Collaborate with Production Manager and Engineering staff to troubleshoot production/design issues.
Assist with the selection, orientation and training of new team members, working with Human Resources and Production Manager.
Develop/maintain positive employee relations and resolution of employee issues and concerns.
Conduct and prepare performance appraisals and individual development plans.
Problem Solve: Analyze data, investigate personnel issues, and collaborate with HR and Operations leadership to identify and implement solutions.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production floor.
Managing team members timecards, tracking attendance, vacation time and overtime.
Cooperate with all areas within the company to ensure overall company goals are met.
Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies.
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
Experience in Production or Operations management in a similar manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of MIG welding techniques, materials, and quality control standards.
2-5+ years of supervisory or management experience within a welding or manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in team leadership, employee coaching, process improvement, and production planning.
Strong ability to read and interpret product blueprints and engineering specifications.
Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, particularly in resolving welding and production challenges.
Proficient in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Total Productive Maintenance.
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with employees, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
Proficient using computers and various manufacturing and production software applications to track performance, plan schedules, and monitor quality control.
Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety regulations relevant to welding and manufacturing operations.
