POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Engineer is responsible for production readiness by validating Bills of Material (BOM), reviewing print packages, and managing the Clear to Build and Red Line processes. This role supports accurate documentation, resolves production issues, and collaborates with Engineering, Production, and Data Management to maintain data integrity and drive continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Review upcoming truck builds to ensure Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy and completeness against specifications.
- Evaluate and approve print packages, specifications, designs, and change orders.
- Manage "Clear to Build" status by verifying part availability and readiness for production.
- Own and oversee the Red Line process to ensure accurate documentation of engineering changes.
- Capture and report production issues to relevant stakeholders, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with Data Management to maintain accurate BOMs, work center allocations, and production data integrity.
- Conduct engineering design evaluations and perform technical calculations to support project completion within schedule and budget.
- Provide technical support throughout the engineering and production process, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
- Review reports of production issues, malfunctions, and maintenance to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor project progress, assess risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
| Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience: - High school diploma required.
- Associates degree in engineering preferred.
- Fire apparatus experience required.
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience required.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.

| Skills: Language: - Able to find, read, and interpret relevant business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Able to write reports and business correspondence in a professional manner.
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Able to follow written and verbal directions and communicate new information that could affect project trajectories.
Math: - Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Computer: - Able to perform intermediate PC functions in Microsoft Office Suite and Solidworks
