Job Description

General Description: The ideal candidate for this position is responsible, quick, accurate, organized and works well in a team setting. They will be the communication and a key driving force to develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and clients to maintain critical inventory needs for all customers and offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate product availability, including shipping delays and backorder statuses to co-workers
  • Procure inventory for customer order fulfillment
  • Procure parts and maintenance supplies for manufacturing equipment.
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair shutdowns with Mill Manager and technical staff performing the work.
  • Entering purchasing PO’s and receiving into system.
  • Attend purchasing conferences to maintain and build relationships with new and existing suppliers and keep informed of new products and market changes.
  • Assist in purchasing Amino Acid loads and bulk mineral loads and other assorted items for the Sioux Falls warehouse.
  • Evaluate suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, history, rebates, and other criteria
  • Verify arrival of shipments and ensure appropriate quantities were received
  • Interact with supplies to schedule deliveries and resolve shipping issues
  • Maintain supplies and inventory to keep product on hand and for customer needs without excess
  • Count and reconcile inventory levels to ensure minimal loss
  • Assist staff with shipping products to customers
  • Assist with warehouse needs when necessary

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the animal health industry preferred but not required.

  • Must have basic office and customer service skills

  • Willing to follow direction and be part of a team

  • May be required to pass pre-employment physical as position requires bending, stooping, standing for hours, pulling and lifting up to 55lbs. List not all inclusive
