Department: Production
Reports to: Manager
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for sampling, testing, and reporting results of the status of aggregates made during production. They are responsible for quality control support for the plant.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Position has no direct reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sampling various materials being made during production.
Washing and drying samples
Running gradation tests on materials
Recording reports and communicating results up the chain of command
- Performing lightweight testing when required
- Cleaning and maintain the lab and equipment.
- Assisting with other duties as required

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-discipline to operate without supervision.
- Software technical skills: Proficient with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PDFs
- High level of integrity
- Must comply with all company safety and environmental policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, SDDENR)
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. Technicians will be sent to an appropriate Department of Transportation class for additional training.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Must be mobile and have the ability to walk up and down steps while lifting/carrying buckets of rock and/or sand.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing.
Must be able to withstand periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
