HOURS: 10:30A – 9:00P (10hrs M-Th)
SUMMARY: Under general supervision, responsible for reporting inspection and audit activities concerned with the application and maintenance of quality standards for processes, incoming materials and products. Also responsible for coordinating projects related to Documentation, FPY, SPC, problem solving, root cause analysis, and other related issues. Responsible for assisting in UL/ETL and related agency product audits.
PRE-REQUISITE: Two year technical school degree or five years quality assurance experience in electro/mechanical applications required. Must have technical experience utilizing databases and quality tools. Previous experience working with ISO preferred. Verbal/written communication and organizational skills required. Must possess intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software applications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interprets engineering drawings, schematics, specifications and confers with management and engineering staff to determine and prepare a quality plan for incoming material, in-process and final product and manufacturing processes.
Coordinates defective material review process.
Determines and/or identifies acceptance criteria to assure valid pass/fail decisions.
Determines appropriate sampling plans.
Produces, visually portrays, and maintains regular quality charting as required.
Assists in administering the customer complaint, internal corrective action, line down, and supplier corrective action systems.
Develops and maintains audit and yield reports.
Assists in maintaining and updating the quality system documents.
Assists with recommendation of modifications to existing quality or production procedures and standards to achieve optimum quality within the capabilities of processes.
Assists and advises Quality Facilitators engaged in auditing and inspection with tabulation of data concerning materials and product or process quality.
Facilitates and trains others in the use of quality, problem-solving and root cause analysis tools such as SPC, cause and effect diagrams, histograms, pareto analysis, flow charts, checksheets, and process capability analysis.
Communicates with suppliers, customers, or various departments within ESI on quality related issues and material improvements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY: The Quality Technician is able to perform all Quality Facilitator functions. The Quality Technician is accountable for ensuring quality plans are reflective of internal and external customer requirements. The Quality Technician is also accountable for attendance, safe working habits, efficiency, attitude, conduct, cooperation and contribution to the overall Electronic Systems, Inc. team.
