POSITION SUMMARY

As the designated Quality Technician, you are responsible for maintaining in-process production standards and tracking and documenting quality concerns. The main goal is to promote efficient and effective quality control measures, analyze data, recommend solutions for improvement, and take corrective action.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Perform 8D review and root cause analysis on process and truck component failures.
  2. Perform final line inspection (e.g., Cab, Chassis and Paint Process) and monitor build process quality.
  3. Carry out employee spot inspections and training.
  4. Maintain and monitor Build Books for consistency, build process accuracy, necessary updates and sign-off on proper process control.
  5. Actively monitor customer specification during build process.
  6. Inter-face with Rosenbauer engineering, purchasing, production, materials and other related departments to clarify specifications and proper truck configurations.
  7. Document quality issues (e.g., Process, Component, Training, Engineering, Suppliers, Material Handling and Design Specifications).
  8. Perform containment minimization efforts to remove any non-conforming materials that cause negative production impact.
  9. Maintain quality specific database(s), inventory lists and serial number logs for completion, accuracy, and proper disposition.
  10. Participate in periodic production and quality control meetings.
  11. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • 2-5 years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings required.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools (e.g., Micrometers, Calipers, Protractors, Tape Measure) required.
  • 3-5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Skills:

Language:

  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to communicate effectively and accurately both verbally and through detailed technical writing.

Math:

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

  • Able to work within or learn how to work within programs like Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Mas500

Abilities:

  • Able to work professionally with all levels of the Rosenbauer organization, customers, and vendors.
  • Able to maintain detailed and accurate records.
  • Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
  • Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Driving- license

Driving- Own Vehicle

Hours of work- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally

Ability to obtain CDL license.
