The Quality Weld Specialist is a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) responsible for ensuring all fabricated and welded products meet internal quality standards and customer requirements. This role supports production through inspection, documentation, process improvement, and weld quality leadership, while driving consistent, repeatable welding processes across the shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect weldments to ensure compliance with AWS standards and customer specifications

  • Review, generate, and maintain weld procedures, welder certifications, and quality documentation

  • Perform and oversee weld quality inspections and testing as required

  • Investigate quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions

  • Develop and enforce weld-related SOPs and best practices

  • Support production, engineering, and training efforts to improve weld quality and consistency

  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Education and Experience

  • Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required

  • 5+ years of experience in welding, weld quality, or manufacturing quality environments

  • Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 and AWS D14.3 standards

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical specifications

  • Technical degree in welding or engineering preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment

  • Frequent bending, climbing, stooping, and hands-on inspection activity

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally

  • Exposure to noise, welding environments, and moving machinery

Pay:
Hiring Salary Range: Depending on Experience

Work Hours: 7:00am to 4:30pm Monday – Friday

Note: The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is eligible for a bonus.
