Job Description
Department: Ace Ready Mix
Reports to: General Manager of Ace Ready Mix
Job Summary:
The Ready Mix Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the efficient and timely delivery of ready-mix concrete by scheduling trucks, communicating with drivers and customers, and managing orders.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct reports
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follows all company safety and environmental policies and all federal regulations (OSHA, MSHA, FRA, EPA, DOT, and SDDANR, IADENR).
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers.
- Receives and manages customer orders.
- Gather customer information to determine proper quantity, mix, delivery time, and location for each order. Also maintains customers' special requests
- Enters the customer order timely, accurately, and completely into the dispatch system.
- Schedules drivers to ensure maximum utilization and efficiency of our fleet, all while meeting the needs of our customers.
- Generates accurate and complete delivery tickets.
- Frequently communicates with the drivers, operations, and managers to avoid or address issues or concerns promptly.
- Schedules and communicates drivers' start time to both drivers and managers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Command.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education and Experience:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum two years of work experience in the construction industry preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping.
- Occasional reaching, grabbing, pushing, or pulling.
- Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate loud noises at times.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
