Ophthalmology LTD delivers treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease, as well as cornea transplants, oculoplastic surgery, retina surgery, vitreoretinal surgery, and pediatric eye care in Sioux Falls.

We are seeking a highly organized, energetic Registered Nurse to support a new ophthalmologist specializing in neuro-ophthalmology who will be joining our practice soon. This role is ideal for an RN who thrives in a dynamic clinical environment, enjoys building strong patient relationships, and values being an essential partner in delivering exceptional specialized care.

As the primary ophthalmic RN, you will manage all aspects of the physician's clinical and surgical workflow - ensuring seamless coordination, outstanding patient experiences, and efficient operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate all aspects of clinical and surgical care for the neuro-ophthalmology physician, including communication with referring providers, hospitals, clinics, and more.
  • Provide triage, patient education, and patient advocacy throughout the care journey.
  • Administer ophthalmic medications and eye drops as directed by the physician.
  • Assist with in-office procedures while maintaining proper sterile technique.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Support surgical scheduling and pre-/post-operative coordination.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and physicians to maintain a positive, team-oriented environment.

What You Bring:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; current RN licensure
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a hospital or medical office setting
  • Prior ophthalmic experience is not required - complete training will be provided
  • CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to help wherever needed
  • Ability to travel to satellite clinics (Same-day travel) based on the physician's schedule

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time | 40 hours/week
  • Monday - Friday
  • Schedule may vary between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
