Position Highlights:

Job Summary
- Perform admissions assessment, identify the physical and psychosocial needs of the patient. Develops a written plan using the assessment database.
- Plan and set priorities in the delivery of nursing care.
- Implement treatment and procedures and administer medications in compliance with Nursing/Pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Evaluate patient’s symptoms, reaction and progress. Observe, record, and report them to the physician as appropriate.
- Assess, plan and initiate patient education and discharge planning.
- Acts as a mentor/coach to other nursing personnel. Directs self towards professional growth and development.
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure in the State of South Dakota.
- Participates in educational opportunities and updates/maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for all patient care staff.
- ACLS is required by 1 year of employment in ICU.
- PALS is recommended but not required for employment in ICU.
- Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
- TNCC required by one year of employment in ICU.
- Certification in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) within one year of employment. Certification requirements to be maintained while working in the department
Work Schedule
- Hours:
- Full Time position working 7:00am-7:00pm and 7:00pm-7:00am.
- Every other weekend/holiday rotation required.
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
