Avera is currently seeking nurses looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.
Position Highlights:
- Student Loan Repayment: This position is eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money. Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster.

Job Summary:
- Perform a thorough systems assessment on the perinatal and newborn patient.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation.
- Perform technical skills such as fetal monitoring, IV and urinary catheter insertions.
- Set up and monitor oxygen and oxygen saturation.
- Administer medications, blood and blood products.
- Perform vaginal examinations.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Licensed Registered Nurse in South Dakota. Basic Life Support and NRP certification is mandatory within six months of being in the position.
- Previous acute care experience helpful.
Work Schedule
- Hours:
- Twelve hour shifts working 7:00am-7:30pm and 7:00pm-7:30am.
- Every 3rd weekend/holiday rotation required.
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
