Stan Houston Equipment Company has a new opportunity for you!
We are seeking a Full-Time Rental Department Associate to join the team at our Sioux Falls location.
Work hours are Monday through Friday during normal business hours and rotating Saturday morning schedule.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and courteous way.
- Provide information and answer questions about rental equipment, pricing, and availability.
- Guide customers in selecting the appropriate equipment for their project needs.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively.
- Assist in tracking and managing rental reservations and scheduling.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all rental paperwork.
- Ensure rental equipment is properly displayed and organized.
- Process rental agreements, collect payment, and obtain signatures.
- Collaborate with the accounting department for accurate billing and payment processes.
- Assist customers with rental equipment (pick-up, drop-off).
- Inspect rental equipment for damage, cleanliness, and operational functionality before and after pick-up and drop-off.
- Coordinate rental equipment maintenance, repairs, and cleaning as necessary.
- Assist in keeping work area and store clean and organized.
- Offer support and assistance to coworkers during peak periods or in their absence.

- Flexibility to work rotating Saturday schedule (as applicable to the store location).
- Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to adhere to them.
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Prior experience in customer service, rental or retail preferred.
- Previous experience with construction tools and equipment preferred.

Physical Capabilities Required:
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at a time.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Moderate amounts of grasping, fingering and repetitive motion.
- Physical stamina for loading/unloading equipment.
- Flexibility and agility to bend, stoop, and reach.
- Must have a sufficient visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work.
- Understand the speech of another person. Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
- Sufficient normal limits of hearing.

Sioux Falls store hours are Monday to Friday 7:00am-5:30pm and Saturaday 8:00am-12:00pm
