We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Coordinator to join our Clinical Research team. This individual will play a key role in coordinating ophthalmic clinical trials, supporting study participants, and ensuring research is conducted accurately, ethically, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Position Overview

The Research Coordinator works closely with the Principal Investigator, research team, sponsors, and study participants to oversee the day-to-day coordination of clinical research studies. This position is responsible for ensuring adherence to study protocols, maintaining regulatory documentation, coordinating patient visits, and supporting the successful execution of clinical trials.

Responsibilities

Clinical Research Coordination

  • Coordinate research participant visits in accordance with study protocols, ICH-GCP guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with patient recruitment, screening, scheduling, and informed consent processes.
  • Prepare patient charts and ensure complete and accurate data collection.
  • Support study initiation activities, including study start-up meetings, equipment coordination, and study-related documentation.
  • Assist with monitoring visits and respond to sponsor inquiries and requests.
  • Collect, process, package, and ship research specimens according to applicable regulations.
  • Extract study data from source documents and complete case report forms.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Maintain study regulatory binders and documentation, including protocols, investigator brochures, IRB materials, disclosures, training records, and study correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with study protocols, sponsor requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper study records.
  • Track, document, and report adverse events and serious adverse events within required timelines.
  • Assist with study closeout activities and archive study records appropriately.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as a liaison between study sponsors, investigators, research staff, physicians, and study participants.
  • Communicate study requirements, timelines, and updates clearly and professionally.
  • Promote teamwork and contribute to a positive, patient-focused culture.
  • Assist with additional research and clinical responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare, clinic, or hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Preferred

  • College degree or significant related experience.
  • Previous clinical research experience.
  • Ophthalmic technician experience.
  • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC), Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) credential.
