Job Description

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School education or equivalent.

Experience: On the job training provided.

SHIFT:

  • FT days, and every other weekend and holiday. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this job position is to assist each resident with activities of daily living that the resident is unable to perform without help, always fostering the resident’s independence and freedom of choice in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by the supervisor or nurse.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Become familiar with resident daily needs, likes, dislikes, etc. to provide personalized care given to each individual.
  • Review Care plans daily to monitor resident’s health and keep up to date on care changes.
  • Document data including behaviors, bathing, and other activities of daily living. Report concerns and changes to Charge nurse.
  • Participate to maintain the physical, social, and psychological environment conducive to the resident’s welfare and best interests.
  • Ensure all nursing cares are provided in privacy.
  • Assist with resident cares including but not limited to dressing/undressing, bathing, nail care, dental hygiene, and hair care.
  • Respond to call lights in a timely manner.
  • Make resident beds and change linens as assigned.
  • Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other facility personnel to ensure that nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Help encourage and restore independence through encouragement in ADL skills.
  • Perform day-to-day laundry functions as assigned.
  • Assist residents with packing/unpacking their personal possessions when they are moving in or being transferred or discharged. Ensure that residents’ personal possessions are properly stored.
  • Assist resident to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed.
  • Assist residents in preparing for activities, social programs, medical appointments, visitors, etc.
  • Responsible for leading and participating in resident-centered activities.
  • Help serve food trays and assist with Culinary Department as necessary.
  • Report any changes or concerns in resident rooms and facility to maintenance.
  • Wash wheelchairs, walkers, and all resident care equipment as instructed.
  • Clean residents’ rooms, including bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Maintain and clean public areas within the facility.
  • Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PAY AND BENEFITS:
Starting Pay: $15.40/hour; wage dependent on experience
