Where You’ll Be:
This position’s main property is located at Oscar’s Mini Storage in North Sioux City, SD, but also assists Dakota Pointe Apartments in South Sioux City, NE and commercial properties in Sioux City, IA and Yankton, SD. You will report to the Residential Property Maintenance Manager in Sioux Falls, SD.
What You'll Do:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of our facilities and equipment. Your primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and technical issues efficiently.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime.
- Conducting regular checks on building systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, to identify potential problems.
- Collaborating with other team members to complete maintenance tasks and projects in a timely manner.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, including logs and reports.
- Assisting in the implementation of safety protocols and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Recommending improvements in maintenance procedures and techniques to enhance efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools used in maintenance and repair work.
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety protocols.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks.
- Ability to learn and adhere to Fair Housing laws and regulations.
