Position Supervises: Residential Treatment Technicians
Work Schedule: Full time position requiring flexible schedule to work evenings and one day every other weekend and occasional overnight shifts possible to ensure staff coverage. On-call required every other week.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Residential Supervisor at our inpatient addiction recovery facility for pregnant and parenting women plays a pivotal role in overseeing and supporting Residential Treatment Technicians. Responsible for providing daily coaching, mentoring, and guidance, this position ensures the effective use of evidence-based techniques. The Residential Supervisor guarantees that staff maintain strong, respectful relationships with the women in the program, guiding healthy and productive conversations that foster motivation for change. Additionally, maintaining consistency across all residential services is a priority, with a focus on critical thinking to address behavior management and conflict resolution, ensuring that quality client services are delivered in a safe and supportive environment.
By fostering a collaborative, person-centered approach, the Residential Supervisor promotes open communication between residential leadership, Residential Treatment Technicians, New Start administrative team and LifeMarks mental health. Empowering both staff and participants, this leadership role creates a positive, supportive environment that nurtures growth and success. Leadership is grounded in empathy, understanding, and a commitment to the program’s mission of providing an empowering and compassionate space where participants can transform their lives. Through this guidance and example, the Residential Supervisor plays a crucial part in supporting staff and helping women on their path to recovery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)
Supervision and Coaching
A. Provide support, modeling behaviors, communications, and encouragement and ongoing evaluative feedback on Residential Treatment Technicians performance.
B. Develop a team environment that encourages collaborative conversations.
C. Provide supervision, ongoing support, and evaluation of Residential Treatment Technicians positions.
D. Responsible for development of staff schedule to ensure the appropriate staff to client ratio 24 hrs/day.
E. Collaborate with the residential leadership to create emergency on-call schedule to provide support to staff during crisis and other emergency situations.
F. Responsible for specific program orientation and training for new staff.
G. Ensure ongoing communication between residential, clinical, and administrative staff.
H. Ensure staff completion of required trainings.
I. Work with the residential leadership to interview for open positions.
Participant Services
A. Assist with the implementation of goals and treatment plans for clients.
B. Coordinate with residential leadership to ensure clients program compliance.
C. Provide consultation and direction for Residential Treatment Technicians regarding client services.
D. Plan and assist in the supervision of all client activities.
E. Ensure the provision of services and activities that promote positive choices and healthy lifestyles.
F. Administer medications to residents as appropriate.
G. Ensure critical data is reported and documented, including incident reports, fire drills, medication administration errors, new employee paperwork.
H. Attend program meetings and training sessions.
I. Ensure supplies and groceries are adequately stock in the units.
Crisis Intervention
A. Provide coverage to crisis calls and ensure documentation is completed.
B. Provide crisis intervention and communicate issues as necessary.
C. Participate in the emergency on-call system.
Facility
A. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in facility.
B. Maintain safe working conditions.
C. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire codes.
D. Identify facility needs and communicate needs to administrative staff.
Carryout other duties as requested to ensure successful operation of the residential facility.
POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor degree in alcohol and drug studies, counseling, social work, or related human service field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two years related work experience, one of which must be in a residential setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills: Excellent communication and coaching skills, and coordinative abilities required.
Other Requirements: Individual must possess the skills to treat and respectfully manage an adult population with co-occurring issues.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
A. Ability to Stand, Walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward and above shoulders, speak, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend on a daily basis
B. Capability to Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs on a daily basis
