RESPONSIBILITIES
- Summary: Direct all daily operations of the restaurant, bar, and kitchen to ensure consistent quality, service, and atmosphere.
- Front of House Oversight: Work in conjunction with the Front of House Supervisor to ensure that team members have been properly trained to provide top notch customer service. Hop in during peak hours to help as needed.
- Kitchen Oversight: Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to monitor food preparation, plating standards, and portion control to maintain profitability and guest satisfaction.
- Menu & Inventory Control: Oversee purchasing for food, liquor, and supplies; conduct regular audits to manage COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) and reduce waste. Continually analyze menu items with the goal of consistently improving them.
- Staff Supervision: Hire, train, and manage performance for all team members, ensuring our Core Values are being upheld by all. Review, revise, and approve schedules created by FOH and BOH managers to ensure labor targets and quality of service are achieved.
- Health & Sanitation: Enforce strict USDA and local health department standards; ensure the staff is properly trained so the facility meets the highest cleanliness benchmarks.
- Financial Performance: Manage labor budgets, review daily sales reports, and implement strategies to increase sales. Properly maintain labor % of sales and food costs to ensure profitability. Meeting with GM to review and project financial performance.
- Guest Relations: Maintain a high floor presence during peak hours to engage with guests, support the team in any way needed, and resolve any operational bottlenecks.
- Operational Compliance: Ensure all cash handling, point-of-sale (POS) procedures, and store opening/closing tasks are completed timely and accurately. Complete monthly inventory counts with the help of the GM and other supervisors.
- Staff Development: Recruit, train, and schedule team members, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Administrative Support: Collaborate with the Administrative Headquarters office on HR tasks, financial reporting, ordering, & goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Comprehensive Experience: 3+ years of experience in restaurant management, with a proven track record of managing both kitchen and service staff.
- Culinary Knowledge: Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including preparation, food safety (ServSafe Manager certification required), and menu costing.
- Beverage Expertise: Proficiency in bar management, including inventory control for spirits/beer and knowledge of state liquor laws.
- Computer / Technical Skills: proficiency in operating Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams. Experience operating Point-of-Sale systems is a must, and experience with Shift4’s SkyTab system preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to delegate effectively, resolve internal conflicts, and motivate a large team in a high-pressure, fast paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work on your feet for extended shifts and lift up to 50 lbs (inventory/kegs) as needed.
- Analytical Ability: Proficient in analyzing POS data and financial spreadsheets to drive operational improvements.
- Hours: candidate will be expected to share night and weekend shifts with the other team leaders to ensure that a Supervisor is always on-site.
