The SD Department of Health is seeking a Ryan White Program Coordinator for the Office of Disease Prevention. The position is responsible for supporting the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program through a combination of client service responsibilities and data and quality management functions. This hybrid role will help ensure high-quality HIV care, strong community engagement, and program compliance with state and federal requirements.

Client Services & Community Engagement:
  • Maintain and update Ryan White Service Standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the contracted case management organization
  • Provide technical assistance to subrecipients to ensure compliance and high-quality service delivery
  • Conduct subrecipient monitoring to evaluate performance and adherence to program requirements
  • Participate in the Planning & Priorities Group (PPG) and lead the Ryan White Advisory Group
  • Promote and facilitate community engagement in HIV program planning

Data & Quality Management:
  • Review and analyze program performance measures, including disparity data, to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Manage and update the Clinical Quality Management (CQM) Plan
  • Coordinate data collection, reporting, and other data-related needs for the program
  • Establish and facilitate a CQM Advisory Group
  • Ensure that a CQM project is in place with the contracted case management organization
  • Provide recommendations for continuous quality improvement based on data findings

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Master's in public health, or Certification in CPHQ preferred with two years of health policy administration, business administration, quality management, or a closely related field or two years of equivalent experience in quality management AND epidemiological principles, grant/project coordination, or data analytics
  • Experience with Ryan White or HIV programs strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated technical skills and knowledge of epidemiological concepts, data analysis and reporting, and Microsoft Office. (SAS, R, Stata, or equivalent training a preferred)
  • Experience with disease surveillance systems such as Maven or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within South Dakota

Knowledge of:
  • Ryan White Program regulations, service standards, and reporting requirements
  • Public health principles, HIV care systems, and community engagement strategies
  • Data analysis techniques, quality management principles, and performance improvement methods
  • State and federal grant requirements and compliance processes

Skills to:
  • Analyze and interpret program data to identify trends, disparities, and opportunities for improvement
  • Facilitate meetings, committees, and collaborative planning groups
  • Develop, update, and implement policies, standards, and quality management plans
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with diverse audiences
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems effectively

Ability to:
  • Work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Collaborate with subrecipients, community organizations, and stakeholders
  • Engage and motivate diverse groups in planning and decision-making
  • Represent the SD Ryan White Program at relevant state, federal, and external partner meetings
  • Occasional travel in and out of state
  • Adapt to changing program needs and priorities in a hybrid work environment
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public
