Position Summary
The Safety Agent supports the management of safety and compliance processes while delivering excellent customer service. This position allows for growth and the opportunity to learn new skills. This position reports directly to the Safety Manager.
Key Responsibilities
The Safety Agent is responsible for safety and compliance activities, including but not limited to:
- Collaborate with IT to develop, test, and maintain safety management systems.
- Support ATS customers with a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
- Assist other departments proactively as needed.
- Understand and utilize federal and state compliance resources, including SAFER, FMCSA, SMS, and the Motor Carrier Safety Planner.
- Enter, update, and maintain data within the ATS database.
- Ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing processes.
- Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries.
- Communicate relevant information to supervisors and team members.
- Comply with all lawful, job-related requests from management.
- Stay informed on federal and state laws, regulations, and industry requirements.
- Utilize existing programs and provide safety education to motor carriers.
- Assist with mileage breakdowns, permits, and other ATS-related tasks.
- Scan, organize, and maintain electronic records and documents.
