Position Overview
Michels Communications Corporation is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Sales & Marketing Account Executive to help grow our portfolio of print, digital, and event-based marketing solutions.
This role focuses on building relationships with local and regional businesses and helping them promote their brand through our publications, marketing platforms, and media channels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients.
The right individual will be comfortable meeting with business owners, understanding their marketing goals, and recommending advertising strategies that drive visibility, engagement, and measurable results.
This is a client-facing role that requires strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple accounts and campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Identify and pursue new advertising and marketing partnerships with businesses throughout the region.
Prospect and develop relationships with potential clients across various industries.
Schedule and conduct meetings with business owners and marketing decision-makers.
Present marketing strategies and advertising opportunities through Michels Communications publications and platforms.
Account Management
Build long-term relationships with existing clients.
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
Ensure client campaigns are executed properly and deliver strong value.
Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the campaign process.
Marketing Strategy Consultation
Work with clients to understand their business goals and marketing objectives.
Recommend marketing solutions including:
Print advertising
Sponsored content and advertorials
Digital marketing opportunities
Event sponsorships
Multi-platform marketing campaigns
Help clients maximize their exposure through integrated marketing strategies.
Campaign Coordination
Coordinate with the internal editorial, design, and operations teams to execute client campaigns.
Ensure creative assets, messaging, and campaign timelines stay on track.
Communicate revisions and feedback between clients and internal teams.
Sales Planning & Goal Achievement
Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
Maintain accurate records of prospects, meetings, and sales activity.
Manage a sales pipeline and follow-up with potential clients.
Community Engagement
Represent Michels Communications at networking events, community events, and industry functions.
Build relationships within the local business community.
Help expand brand awareness and credibility for Michels Communications publications.
Qualifications
Required:
2–5+ years of experience in sales, marketing, advertising, or business development
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to present marketing ideas clearly and confidently
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Ability to manage multiple client relationships and projects simultaneously
Preferred:
Experience in media sales, advertising sales, or digital marketing
Familiarity with print and digital marketing strategies
Existing relationships within the local business community
Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses on marketing strategies
