Job Description

SUMMARY:  The Store Manager sets an ‘upbeat and happy tone’ for the store. He/she ensures that the mission, principles, and Scooter's Coffee touchstones are carried out, embraced, and modeled by all employees. The Store Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the assigned Scooter’s Coffee location; directs staff to ensure that customers are satisfied with their experience; and makes certain the assigned location is profitable. The Store Manager may work up to 40-50 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Staff Management
  • Interviews, hires, trains, oversees, and retains all store employees
  • Schedules shifts for all staff while maintaining efficient labor costs
  • Responds to employees’ questions in a timely manner
  • Enforces dress code
  • Maintains positive employee morale

 

  • Product/Store Management
  • Makes and services specialty coffee and tea beverages
  • Adheres to recipes and presentations for food and beverage items
  • Ensures product quality and a premium customer experience
  • Maintains a pleasant store appearance; maintains safe working conditions
  • Manages inventory; orders and tracks using COGS
  • Inspects supplies and equipment to ensure they are working properly
  • Performs open/closing procedures and reports as needed
  • Ensures employees comply with health and food safety standards and regulations
  • Investigates and resolves complaints regarding food quality or service
  • Manages Scooter’s Coffee card sales
  • Submits payroll
  • Covers shifts as needed

 

  • Other Functions:
  • Runs errands
  • Attends meetings
  • Performs other functions as directed

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education and Work Experience
  • High school diploma; associate’s degree in management or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of customer service experience required
  • 2+ years of experience managing staff preferred
  • Must have a current driver’s license

  • Physical Capabilities Required
  • Most physical exertion is in the ‘low’ range, requiring exertion of less than 5 pounds of force fairly regularly; however, may occasionally require exertion of up to 25 pounds.
  • Job includes major amounts of reaching, standing, walking, talking and hearing
  • Must have a sufficient visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned to employees, and to make general inspections of the work area
  • Environmental conditions include a mild to moderate noise level
