Job Description - Empire Mall
Kozy Blankets & Gifts is a holiday store specializing in blankets. We have been in malls across the midwest for the past 15+ years during the holiday season. We are looking for reliable customer oriented retail sales associates to work at our kiosks or inline stores. All shifts are available from full time to part time (days, nights, weekends). We are only closed on Christmas Day. Pay starts at $14+ depending on experience with attendance bonus included. Pay range $14-16 per hour.
Primary Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- “Smiles and Says Hi, how can I help you?” Contributes to customer oriented atmosphere within store by smiling and saying hi to all customers.
- Quickly helps with any customer’s questions and requests. Demonstrates an "I want to help you attitude" to all customers.
- Processes credit & cash payments using a register. Handles payments in a professional manner.
Operations:
- Ensures that all cash handling procedures are done in accordance to policy and procedure as well as in a timely manner. Opens, closes and balances register and records information on a balance sheet for their drop envelope.
- Immediately identifies and informs manager or owner of register variances and errors. Investigates variances and errors to help in their correction.
- Prepares cash registers at opening and closing. Provides change for registers and collects cash and coupons.
- Ensures prompt removal of merchandise holds. Makes sure all merchandise is folded, bagged, hung, tagged and priced appropriately before returning to the sales floor.
- Maintains a neat, clean and organized customer service area.
- Maintains consistent communication with fellow employees and manager.
- Restocks the Kiosk or store during or after each shift. All items sold from a kiosk will need to be replenished at the end of each shift from storage. This may require lifting boxes up to 50 lbs.
- During shift walk around and clean-up all displays.
- Uses a cash register and credit card machine to check-out customers.
- Assist with store set-up and close down.
- Assist unloading new inventory delivered and replenish inventory as needed.
- Follow up on sales leads or request with customers by phone.
- Communicate special requests to owners.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned. Examples may include, but are not limited to, restocking the kiosk or storage, greeting customers, assisting customers at Point-of-Sale, and assisting in the preparation and taking of inventory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in customer service or in cash balancing and processing.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing or moving about within the store. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.
- Adherence to Company policy and procedures is required.
- Regular attendance is required. Work all scheduled shifts and be on time.
- Need reliable transportation.

Manager: (in addition to skills listed above)
- 1 year or more of customer service required.
- Must have a high school degree.
- Train, schedule and supervise full-time and part-time associates. This includes prioritizing and delegating daily work assignments, giving timely feedback to all associates in these areas regarding performance and conduct.
- Covering shifts when needed.
- Taking Inventory
- Recording, finding, and correcting errors in daily shift drops.
- Communication with owners.
- Help with unloading when new stock comes.
- Arranging products in the store.
- Maintaining a positive work environment for all staff members.
- Helping to hire staff.

- Must be able to balance a cash drawer and teach others to balance.
Job Type: Temporary - Month of December
Salary: $14.00 to $16.00 /hour
