OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Candidates must be able to work from the office on a daily basis. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are very limited for this role.

The Senior Accountant serves as a key financial leader, overseeing accounting operations and helping shape the company’s financial success. This role manages financial reporting, general ledger activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax compliance, and the annual budgeting process. Working closely with Executive Management, the Senior Accountant will provide strategic financial guidance, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and support sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute financial strategies that support organizational objectives and long-term growth

• Analyze complex financial data to deliver actionable insights that inform business decisions and strengthen financial performance

• Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely, and meaningful financial statements

• Oversee and manage core accounting functions, including financial forecasting, general ledger maintenance, large-scale financial data management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reporting

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

• Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and applicable regulatory requirements

• Monitor financial trends and key performance indicators, providing recommendations that support informed decision-making

• Identify opportunities to enhance financial performance, improve profitability, and support business expansion initiatives

• Manage tax accounting and compliance activities while maximizing efficiency and maintaining regulatory compliance

• Lead enterprise risk management efforts by identifying financial risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies

• Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes and the delivery of comprehensive financial reports

• Partner with Executive Management on financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and strategic initiatives

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations

• Design, implement, and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity

• Support the budgeting process through preparation, performance monitoring, variance analysis, and reporting

• Champion process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within accounting functions

Job Requirements
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• Minimum of 6–8 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance

• Proficient in financial software; advanced Excel skills are required

• Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA designation preferred

• Experience independently leading accounting operations and month-end/year-end close processes

• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

Compensation:

Salary based on experience – Starting at $120,000 DOE
