The Senior Project Manager manages the organization's portfolio of projects by coordinating cross-functional project teams and partnering with project owners. This role develops and implements project management practices, processes, methodologies, and metrics; defines projects and expected outcomes; establishes timelines; coordinates project resources; and ensures stakeholders receive accurate, timely status information.
The ideal candidate combines comprehensive project management expertise with disciplined execution and strong cross-functional leadership. This person can manage complex work within established processes, improve operating practices when needed, and drive accountability for completing projects on time and within established quality standards.
Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
• Manage the organization's portfolio of projects by coordinating cross-functional teams and partnering with project owners
• Develop and implement project management practices, processes, methodologies, and metrics
• Define projects, identify expected outcomes, establish timelines, and coordinate project resources
• Partner with project sponsors and stakeholders to clarify scope, objectives, deliverables, dependencies, resource requirements, and success measures
• Establish consistent portfolio governance, prioritization, reporting, escalation, and change-control practices
• Monitor project status, risks, issues, budgets, schedules, quality, and interdependencies; intervene when delivery is at risk
• Prepare and review reports detailing project and portfolio status and communicate updates to project stakeholders
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within established quality standards
• Provide project leadership, direction, and coordination across assigned initiatives
• Support project participants with clear expectations, effective tools, and consistent project-management practices that promote accountability
• Facilitate cross-functional planning and decision-making and resolve competing priorities or unclear ownership
• Administer established policies and procedures while recommending procedural changes that improve consistency, efficiency, and business results
• Contribute to departmental budgeting, strategic planning, capacity planning, and resource allocation as assigned
• Maintain accurate project documentation and promote consistent use of approved project management tools and standards
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Operations, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible project management experience, including experience leading complex, cross-functional projects
• Experience leading complex initiatives through influence, coordination, and accountability across cross-functional teams
• Comprehensive knowledge of project management concepts, principles, methodologies, governance practices, and performance metrics
• Demonstrated ability to define projects, identify expected outcomes, establish realistic timelines, assign resources, and manage execution through completion
• Ability to perform complex work within established processes while exercising judgment on procedural improvements and escalation decisions
• Strong portfolio management, prioritization, risk management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare status reports and communicate with varied stakeholders
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams, clarify accountability, and resolve competing priorities
• High level of discretion, professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
• Experience with project / portfolio management software and reporting tools required
• Project management certification such as PMP or an equivalent credential preferred
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 DOE. Silencer Central offers a competitive total compensation package that includes:
