The Service Manager plays a critical role in making sure that standard is consistently delivered.
We are looking for a LEADER who understands that culture and accountability are not opposites. They work together. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building structure, strengthening accountability, developing a high-performing service team, and ensuring our customers experience the very best of RMS.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Leading the Service Team
- You will provide day-to-day leadership for 10-15 individuals in our Service Department , both in-house and in the field.
- Coordinate schedules and resources, ensuring team members have the tools and materials they need.
- Reinforce expectations around quality and professionalism and address challenges constructively.
- Helping team members grow in skill and confidence.
Owning Safety & Compliance
- Safety at RMS is foundational. You will ensure proper documentation and follow-up when incidents occur, oversee equipment readiness and vehicle compliance.
- Reinforce safety habits in both the shop and field and maintain strong organization and housekeeping standards.
Protecting the Customer Experience
- Help maintain strong customer relationships by ensuring service work is thorough and professional and documentation is accurate.
- Assure issues are addressed promptly, and feedback is used to drive improvement.
Bringing Operational Discipline
- Plan labor and resources responsibly, coordinate with vendors and millwright partners, and anticipate potential delays.
- Maintain oversight of tools, equipment, and departmental spending.
Developing a Strong Team Culture
- Hold regular one-on-one conversations, provide honest and respectful feedback, recognize strong performance, address gaps early, and reinforce how each role contributes to RMS True North.
- Partner with the Plant Manager to identify talent needs and participate in candidate evaluation and hiring decisions.

Travel
- Staying connected to field work ensures leadership stays practical and informed. National travel of 10-15%will be required with occasional overnights to visit customers and vendors.
Background That Supports Success
- Valid driver’s license required.
- 2-4 years of leadership experience in service, operations, or a technical environment required.
- Mechanical or field service exposure.
- Experience coordinating teams and resources.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
