As the Shared Services Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of ensuring smooth and accurate workforce data processing and excellent customer service for State of South Dakota employees. This is an impactful role where you will lead critical intake, setup, and pre-processing functions, preparing essential data for seamless handoff to the Auditor's Office and Bureau of Finance and Management. This role is designed for a motivated and detail-oriented leader ready to drive accountability, inspire a high-performing team, and enhance operational excellence across statewide agencies.

In this role, you'll guide a multi-functional team, upholding strict standards of data integrity and ensuring that timelines are consistently met. Your efforts will play a pivotal role in establishing accurate and reliable data flows that directly support thousands of state employees, while also driving innovations in workflow efficiency and process accuracy. You'll work closely with a wide range of agency representatives, fostering collaboration and accountability and ensuring that data collection and validation meet the highest standards.

Licenses and Certifications:

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Data Integrity and Security Protocols - Experience with safeguarding data accuracy, confidentiality, and security throughout the intake and pre-processing stages, including familiarity with best practices for handling sensitive employee information.
  • HR and Compliance Regulations - Knowledge of state and federal labor laws, HR policies, and compliance standards relevant to timekeeping and data integrity, ensuring the team's processes align with all regulatory requirements.
  • Timekeeping and Workforce Data Management Systems - Familiarity with systems used for time tracking, attendance, and employee data management, with the ability to leverage these tools for efficient data intake, setup, and validation.


Skill to:

  • Leadership and Team Supervision - Strong leadership skills to effectively supervise, coach, and inspire a team in a collaborative, service-oriented environment.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with diverse teams, building consensus, and providing clear guidance to employees and managers.

This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
