Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Shop Mechanic for our afternoon/evening shift. This position plays a critical role in keeping our fleet of trucks and heavy equipment running safely and efficiently. The primary responsibilities include performing routine service and preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, and supporting field operations by keeping equipment ready to work. On occasion, you may assist with fueling operations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine service and preventative maintenance on heavy trucks, pickups, and construction equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on trucks and heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, graders, and loaders.
- Communicate with the Shop Coordinator to plan upcoming work orders, identify needed parts, and prioritize tasks.
- Complete service documentation accurately and on time to maintain thorough maintenance and repair records.
- Assist with fueling duties on occasion to support field operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve shop efficiency and equipment uptime.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience servicing and repairing heavy trucks and equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently during the afternoon/evening shift while collaborating with the daytime team.
