Social Workers department is designed to be a structured, therapeutic environment for children and adults to learn to understand their diagnosis, develop a Crisis Response Plan, use healthy coping skills and set and complete goals.

Resource Family Services (RFS) Specialist
- Assists families in navigating the process to become a foster or adoptive resource.
- In this position you will provide training and complete home study assessments for prospective foster and adoptive families.
- You will be a valuable member of the LSS Resource Family Services Team and work collaboratively with the South Dakota Department of Social Services.
Kinship Social Worker
- Kinship Social Workers assist the family members of children in South Dakota DSS/CPS custody through the Kinship Home Study process.
- The Kinship Social Worker uses the Protective Factors Capacity Assessment Model to assess and evaluate potential kinship placements for youth.
- In this position, you will partner with families to complete the home study process, write the home study assessment, and provide resources and support to families throughout the process.
- You will be a valuable member of the LSS Kinship Team and work collaboratively with South Dakota DSS/CPS.
Wraparound Coordinator
- Provide case management for children, youth, and families using the CARES Wraparound model.
- Facilitate Family Team Conferencing and support a strengths-based, family-driven approach.
- Connect families with appropriate community resources and monitor service quality.
- Promote trauma-informed, culturally competent care within a youth-guided system.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, plus one to two years related experience.
- Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Social Work Associate through the South Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must successfully complete all agency background checks.
- Requires valid driver’s license and ability to obtain approved driver status.
