Join Our Team as a Software Engineer
Direct Data Management, part of the Direct Companies family, is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in Sioux Falls.
In this role, you’ll work alongside developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to build, improve, and support custom software solutions that solve real business challenges.
This is an in-office position based in Sioux Falls, SD.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 1–5 years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in C# and .NET web frameworks such as Blazor or MVC
- Proficiency in React or other front-end interface programming frameworks and technologies
- Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Experience developing, testing, and maintaining software applications
- Familiarity with Agile development practices
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or cloud-based authentication
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Recent graduates with strong internship, project, or related technical experience may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain custom web applications and software solutions for internal and external clients
- Write clean, reliable, and maintainable code using modern development practices with an emphasis on security and design
- Adapt and enhance existing applications for new business needs
- Respond to and resolve software issues independently or in collaboration with team members
- Collaborate with clients, users, and team members to understand needs and develop effective solutions
- Accurately document development activities, solutions, and technical information
- Participate in project planning, testing, code reviews, and implementation of new tools and technologies
- Contribute to improvements in code quality, development processes, operational efficiency, and customer experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with JavaScript, Python, PHP, APIs, or system integrations
- Experience working directly with users or clients to understand business needs
- Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, or business systems environments
