Full-time school year position. Works August through May.
Pay: $18.15 to $21.81 per hour depending on education and experience

Job Requirements
A. Education Level: Must meet Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements of one of the following:
1. Associates Degree or higher; OR
2. Completed a minimum of 48 college credits; OR
3. High school diploma (will be required to take para test)
B. Experience Desired: Experience working with children
C. Physical Requirements: This position requires constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, hearing; frequent bending over, crouching, reaching, speaking, standing, stooping, turning and walking. Frequent carrying, grasping, holding, lifting, opening, pulling, unfolding, and unlocking are also required. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
1. Assists students in accessing transportation.
2. As needed provides personal care to students with special daily living needs (e.g. toileting, feeding, physical management)
3. Provides review and practice of skills taught by a teacher with students 1:1 and in small groups in special education classroom and/or regular classroom.
4. Refers issues to staff and/or administration.
5. Works with students in schools and in community sites and outings.
6. Prepares instructional materials as directed/selected by teacher.
7. Reinforces instructional/behavioral objectives.
8. Provides clerical assistance to maintaining student records (charting, assignments, attendance, data for progress notes, etc.)
9. Assists with the supervision of students in all educational environments including recess, lunchroom, and on the playground.
10. Maintains and assures confidentiality of information.
11. Exhibits the ability to follow teacher directions and written plans.
12. Has the ability to work in a team setting and be flexible.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
A. Inside and Outside
B. Climatic Environment – Occasionally subjected to outside/cold below 32 degrees. Occasionally subjected to heat above 100 degrees. Occasionally subjected to extreme noise.
C. Hazards – For some buildings, exposure to communicable diseases may be a potential hazard. Often rubber gloves provided for personal care of students as a protective device. Occasionally subjected to potentially physically and verbally aggressive students.
D. Work Year – This position is for a contract year. Duties of the position are performed between August 1st and May 31st.
