JOB SUMMARY: Cresten Capital is looking for a Special Projects Manager is a highly capable, business savvy professional that effectively works directly with executive leadership. This position is designed for someone who has resilience, discretion and adaptability to keep pace with leadership who move quickly, challenge their teams, and expect precision and unwavering accountability. This role focuses on assisting in optimizing workflows, maintaining business processes and documentation, controlling expenses, implementing cost reduction measures, and identifying opportunities to increase revenue across all companies in the portfolio by anticipating needs, keep projects moving, and ensure company priorities are executed. To succeed in this position, one must demonstrate the stamina to match the intensity of leadership and the business sense to make sound, independent decisions under pressure.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process Development & Documentation
  • Analyze and document workflows across all companies to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Manage workflows, reporting, and follow-ups to keep leadership focused on high-value priorities.
  • Translate vision into actionable steps and hold stakeholders accountable for progress.
  • Prepare concise updates, reports, and recommendations that support informed decision-making.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key business functions as requested by leadership.
  • Keep all process documentation up-to-date, accurate, and accessible.
  • Anticipate roadblocks, cut through noise, and proactively deliver solutions.
  • Drive execution of strategic priorities and projects, ensuring timelines and results are met.
Expense Evaluation & Cost Reduction
  • Review and assess company-wide expenses, identifying areas of overspending or inefficiency.
  • Recommend cost-saving measures that maintain or improve operational quality to Leadership.
  • Monitor the implementation of cost reduction initiatives and track results.
Revenue Enhancement
  • Work with leadership teams to identify and document revenue growth opportunities.
Executive Leadership Support
  • Act as a trusted liaison between Executive Leadership and teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Assist Executive Leadership with initiatives, research, reporting, and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate cross-company communications and follow-ups on leadership priorities.
  • Anticipate roadblocks, cut through noise, and proactively deliver solutions.
Continuous Improvement
  • Stay informed on various industry best practices, operational innovations, and cost management trends.
  • Maintain discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive or high-pressure situations.
General
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Ability to balance multiple competing demands with calm, confidence, and urgency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in operations, strategy support, or project coordination.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; proven ability to “just get it done.”
  • Business acumen and comfort working closely with senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to appropriately hold firm if or when necessary.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in general business and project management tools.
  • Resilient under pressure, adaptable to changing circumstances, and unflappable in the face of challenges or intense demands.
  • Exhibits agility in adjusting work approach to match leadership’s pace and respond to shifting priorities for optimal performance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Primarily office-based in a professional setting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, walk, bend, crouch, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regionally in the Sioux Falls area.
