Job Description
As a key member of the Specialty Gas Division, this role is responsible for safely and expertly filling compressed gases, supporting customer service needs, and coordinating hazardous material shipments. This position blends hands-on technical work with high-quality customer interaction, ensuring that every cylinder and every order meets the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and professionalism.
Essential Job Duties
Cylinder Preparation & Gas Production
- Prepare specialty gas cylinders through processes such as cylinder bakeout, valving, and pre-fill inspections.
- Fill pure and mixed gases using both manual and automated blend cells.
- Adhere strictly to A-OX cylinder filling protocols and all safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate production records, documentation, and compliance files.
Packaging & Order Completion
- Complete finished gas packages, including labeling, scanning, shrink-wrapping, and preparing cylinders for shipment.
- Coordinate hazmat shipping for specialty gas wholesale orders, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
Customer Service & Communication
- Provide responsive and professional support to specialty gas wholesale customers.
- Manage order confirmations, shipping notifications, and customer documentation requests.
- Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for inquiries related to specialty gas products and shipments.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to routinely lift 25–75 pounds.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods (up to 8 hours).
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motion required.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and perform under deadline pressure.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
