Job Description
This role plays a critical part in the Specialty Gas Division by safely filling, analyzing, and verifying the quality of compressed gases. It combines hands-on cylinder preparation with advanced analytical work, ensuring every product meets stringent industry, regulatory, and customer specifications.
Essential Job Duties
Cylinder Preparation & Gas Production
- Prepare compressed gas cylinders for filling, including inspection, cleaning, and setup.
- Fill pure and mixed gases using both manual and automated blend cell systems.
- Follow all A-OX procedures for cylinder filling, gas analysis, and workplace safety.
- Maintain accurate and complete production documentation.
Gas Analysis & Quality Assurance
- Perform daily analyses of food-grade, medical, and specialty gases to ensure compliance with required specifications.
- Operate and maintain gas chromatographs equipped with TCD, DID, and FID detectors.
- Interpret analytical results, troubleshoot abnormalities, and ensure proper calibration and instrument performance.
- Record, submit, and archive all analytical data and quality records.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or equivalent experience in analytical laboratory work.
- Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, preferably gas chromatography.
- Ability to routinely lift 25–75 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motion required.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and perform effectively under deadline pressure.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
