Job Description:
Job Purpose:
Prepare journal entries related to the company's credit card portfolio by maintaining records as well as reconciling general ledger and deposit accounts, researching questions and interpreting data. Analyze financial information and summarize financial results.
Primary Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare daily credit card settlement journal entries, credit card settlement runs, wire transfers and reconcilements.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reporting packages.
- Responsible for managing the cash position by monitoring bank accounts and transferring funds between accounts to optimize cash and investment interest income.
- Prepare Mastercard and Visa Quarterly Reports and Federal Reserve Bank quarterly reporting.
- Research general ledger inquiries, ad hoc report and research requests, and reconciling issues.
- Assist with audits including sales and use tax, quarterly prepaid, internal, interim and annual external financial.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of departmental policies, guidelines and protocols.
Skills:
- Advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills? with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Four years' bachelor's degree in accounting and/or 5 years in a financial institution experience preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
