Position Summary
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated, cleaned, assembled, packaged, sterilized, stored, and distributed. Your work ensures patient safety and supports efficient surgical operations. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in sterile processing or instrument processing required or equivelant experience.
What You’ll Do
In this essential role, you will:
- Decontaminate, sterilize, assemble, wrap, and prepare surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Follow strict Standard Precautions in all decontamination and sterilization areas
- Monitor biological and chemical solutions for quality assurance
- Maintain inventory levels across sterile processing, procedure rooms, and storage areas
- Inspect and verify equipment functionality; report or remove defective items
- Keep workspaces clean, organized, and compliant with infection control standards
- Assist in preparing and resetting procedure rooms throughout the day
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members
- Support departmental policies, safety standards, and quality improvement initiatives

- Basic computer skills (Windows operating system)

Physical Requirements
This role requires an active, hands-on approach:
- Standing, walking, reaching, and using hands frequently
- Occasional sitting and kneeling
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Visual abilities including close, distance, color, and depth perception
