Position Overview
The Store Manager is responsible for the overall performance and daily operations of Pomegranate Market. This leadership role ensures a positive and welcoming store culture, drives financial success, and empowers department managers and team members to excel in service, efficiency, and execution. The Store Manager sets the tone for excellence across the store by leading with integrity, energy, and care.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and inspire department managers and store team members to perform at their best
- Promote a healthy, inclusive, and motivated work culture aligned with Pomegranate’s mission
- Ensure adequate staffing and scheduling for excellent service and operational efficiency
- Support team member training and development, including performance feedback and accountability
Customer Experience
- Foster a warm and helpful shopping experience rooted in hospitality and care
- Actively engage with guests and respond to concerns or feedback with professionalism
- Maintain store cleanliness, merchandising standards, and a safe shopping environment
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily store operations, ensuring smooth coordination between departments
- Monitor and drive key performance indicators including sales, margins, labor, and shrink
- Implement and maintain systems and processes that improve store efficiency and service
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations
Financial Oversight
- Collaborate with ownership on annual budgets and store goals
- Manage labor budgets and department-level P&Ls to meet or exceed targets
- Support inventory management, cost control, and vendor relations
Community & Brand Representation
- Represent Pomegranate Market with authenticity and enthusiasm in the community
- Support local partnerships and promotions that align with our values and vision
- Collaborate with marketing and ownership to ensure alignment on promotions and initiatives
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of retail or grocery leadership experience, natural foods preferred
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams
- Understanding of grocery retail operations and financial performance metrics
- High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
