Summary:
The Division of Behavioral Health within the Department of Social Services is looking for an individual who is committed to service, has excellent communication and organizational skills, and is dedicated to operationalizing services to help individuals with behavioral health and substance use needs achieve resilience and recovery. This position is responsible for coordination and monitoring of strategic initiatives and special projects that promotes the Division of Behavioral Health's mission to support quality clinical treatment and prevention services with integrity to obtain positive outcomes for individuals with behavioral health needs.
The primary duties of this position include coordinating constituent contacts; monitoring and coordinating grant opportunities, including grant writing; tracking legislative hearings and coordinating follow-up as needed; organizing meetings and activities for grant-related advisory councils; overseeing the Division's Request for Proposal (RFP) process; preparing informational briefs on various topics related to division activities; management of and central point of contact for the Opioid Settlement Program; providing support to DBH/HSC data outcomes and contract/finance teams; coordinating special projects; and performing other duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, business administration, public administration, or other human service-related field is required.
Knowledge of:
• evidence-based/best practices in mental health and substance use disorder treatment;
• applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations;
• strong project management skills;
• the state funded behavioral health provider system;
• federal, state, grant regulations and process.
Skill to:
• translate data into a clear visual presentation for a variety of audiences;
• align projects with DSS priorities and legislative requirements;
• strategic and analytical thinking;
• work within multidisciplinary teams;
• effective time management with workload and assigned projects.
Ability to:
• anticipate and develop proactive solutions and creative problem solving;
• create and provide training, education, and presentations to staff, providers and the public;
• manage programs;
• exercise independent judgment within established guidelines.
