Structural Engineer
Location
On-site – Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Occasional field visits to project sites. Limited travel may be required for site observations, construction coordination, or forensic evaluations.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday during standard business hours. Occasional additional hours may be needed based on project deadlines, field visits, or emergency response work.
Salary Range
$110,000–$130,000 for candidates with 4–6 years of experience
For candidates with 10+ years of experience, compensation is open for discussion

The Role
This Structural Engineer role is responsible for designing safe, practical, and code-compliant structural systems across a wide range of projects. The position supports work involving wood, concrete, steel, and precast systems in markets such as agriculture, industrial, wastewater, government, emergency response, and forensic engineering. You will work closely with internal team members, clients, contractors, and affiliated construction partners to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Design vertical structural systems using wood, concrete, steel, and precast materials
- Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and construction documents
- Support projects across agricultural, industrial, government, wastewater, and specialty structural markets
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, and internal teams to keep projects aligned and moving forward
- Review and develop drawings in Revit and AutoCAD
- Provide field observations, construction support, and design clarifications during project execution
- Assist with specialty foundation, forensic, or emergency response-related engineering work as needed
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, accuracy, and timelines
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license, with South Dakota licensure or ability to obtain
- At least 4 years of structural engineering experience
- Experience designing structural systems for commercial, industrial, agricultural, or similar projects
- Working knowledge of wood, concrete, steel, and precast structural systems
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of structural analysis and code-compliant design
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of structural engineering experience
- Licensure in additional states
- Experience with RISA-3D, LPILE, or Deepex
- Experience with specialty foundation design
- Construction or field experience related to structural or deep foundation systems
- Experience with forensic engineering or emergency response assessments
