Job Status: Relief

Reports to: Site Coordinator

Supervises: None

Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM

POSITION SUMMARY

The Lunch Program Support Professional is responsible for supporting students during summer programming by assisting with meal service and providing consistent, active supervision before, during, and immediately after lunch. This position helps ensure a safe, structured, and positive environment while students transition through lunch routines.

The Lunch Program Support Professional engages positively with students, supports appropriate behavior, and follows established routines and expectations. This role assists with basic setup, cleanup, serving, coordination, and reporting related to lunch service while modeling respectful and responsible behavior that supports students success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)

Lunch Service Support

  • Assist with lunch distribution and basic meal service
  • Support students with opening containers, utensils, or basic needs while eating,
  • Help maintain cleanliness of the lunch area, including tables and surrounding spaces
  • Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation guidelines

Student Support

  • Supervise students in a safe and orderly manner before, during, and immediately after lunch
  • Provide active supervision
  • Support positive behavior and implement program expectations and policies
  • Assist students with transitions such as lining up, seating, cleanup, and dismissal
  • Report any incidents, behavior concerns, injuries, or other concerns to the site Coordinator and assist with related documentation as requested

General

  • Attend scheduled meetings and complete all required trainings within required timeframes
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Be a positive role model by demonstrating patience, consistency, and respectful communication
  • Report any instances (or suspected instances) of child abuse and neglect to the proper authorities
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: None

Experience: Previous food service or youth experience helpful, but not required

Other Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

A. Ability to Stand, Walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward and above shoulders, speak and bend on a daily basis

B. Capability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 30 lbs on a daily basis
