Job Description
A Civil Construction Superintendent manages daily on-site operations for infrastructure projects for all underground utilities, overseeing subcontractors, ensuring strict safety and quality standards, controlling schedules and budgets, coordinating materials, and acting as the key communicator for the project team, ensuring successful, safe, and timely completion. They are the primary on-site leader, enforcing plans, resolving issues, and maintaining compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Site Operations: Direct daily activities, manage logistics, and ensure site organization and cleanliness.
- Schedule & Budget: Drive the project schedule, manage resources (labor, materials, equipment), and monitor costs to meet deadlines and budget.
- Safety & Quality: Enforce strict safety protocols, conduct safety walks, and ensure high-quality workmanship according to plans and codes.
- Coordination: Supervise subcontractors, crews, and field engineers; coordinate with vendors for timely material delivery.
- Communication: Serve as the main point of contact, providing progress reports, resolving disputes, and communicating issues to project managers.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed daily logs, reports, and site records.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in heavy civil underground construction, including water lines, storm and sanitary sewer, trenching and sloping
- Guide and train crew members, develop their skills, and ensure proper equipment operation.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Deep understanding of construction plans, codes, and safety regulations
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and ability to read plans/blueprints
- Driver’s license, CDL helpful, but not required
