Job Description
Windom Area Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Surgery Department on a PRN basis. This role supports perioperative patient care and departmental efficiency through high-quality clinical practice and collaboration with the surgical team. Initial training will focus on admission and discharge processes, with opportunities to expand into additional perioperative areas based on experience.
Location: Windom, MN
Pay range: $38.55 - $54.70/hr *rates offered will reflect applicable experience
Schedule: PRN based on departmental needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care across the surgical continuum, including pre- and post-operative phases
- Complete admission and discharge processes, including patient education and documentation
- Assess patient needs and contribute to the development and implementation of care plans
- Ensure all required documentation and physician orders are accurate and up to date
- Assist with coordination of surgical cases and patient flow
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Strong communication, organization, and critical thinking skills
Preferred:
- Previous experience in surgical services or perioperative nursing
- Experience with admission/discharge workflows
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
