Third Party Billing and Customer Service Specialist
SpEd Forms is hiring a Third Party Billing and Customer Service Specialist to join our growing team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable with technology, and enjoys helping people. In this role, you will support school districts and charter schools using SpEd Forms and MA Forms, answer customer questions, assist with medical assistance billing tasks, and help ensure customers receive timely, accurate, and friendly support.

What you’ll do
As a Third Party Billing and Customer Service Specialist, you will be an important part of our customer support and billing team. Your work will include:
- Responding to customer questions by phone and support requests
- Providing friendly, professional support to school district staff and service providers
- Learning the software systems
- Helping customers understand workflows and resolve issues
- Documenting support requests clearly and accurately
- Documenting software issues for our development team
- Assisting with quality control testing of software updates
- Supporting charter schools and service providers with medical assistance billing workflows
- Preparing and submitting reimbursable MA claims and eligibility files
- Receiving response files from state departments and importing them into the program
- Following company procedures and protecting confidential information
- Working closely with coworkers to provide excellent customer service

- Ability to protect confidential information and follow FERPA and HIPAA guidelines
- Experience with Google Workspace or similar office software
Preferred experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas is helpful, but not required:
- Medical assistance billing
- School district or charter school experience
- Special education experience
- Healthcare billing or claims processing
- Customer support or technical support
- Experience using SpEd Forms or MA Forms
Work location
This position may be based in our Sioux Falls, SD office or remote from Minnesota or South Dakota.
Remote employees must have a dedicated, distraction-free home office and reliable internet access.
Schedule
We are open to candidates seeking 30 to 40 hours per week. A regular weekly schedule is required and will be determined based on candidate availability and business needs.
Employees working 40 hours per week are eligible for full benefits.
