Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The person in this position loads and unloads railcars with bulk materials, uses moving equipment, records operating data, observes the position of railcars when moving in relation to the surroundings, checks the conditions of railcars, and troubleshoots and repairs equipment.
To be considered for this opportunity you must have:
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Ability to work in any/all weather conditions.
- Minimum one year of work experience operating equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, pumps, and heavy machinery.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, lift 50 lbs., and mount/dismount/climb on top of railcars.

EDUCATION
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Load and unload chemicals and bulk powders such as cement, fly ash, sand, and grain into or from railcars and trucks using moving equipment.
- Observe the position of cars passing unloading points and swing spouts to correct as necessary.
- Operate loading and unloading equipment, conveyors, hoists, and other specialized material-handling equipment.
- Monitor product movement to and from railcars and trucks to ensure constant product flow.
- Perform required equipment inspections on each shift. Complete vehicle maintenance forms.
- Comply with all general safety and operating rules.
- Assist railroad crews with various rail-related tasks to facilitate the loading and staging of railcars.
- Assist with other projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE
Monday to Friday with some extended hours
