This is a Full-Time 40 Hours Weekly position with the Bureau of Human Resources and Administration's Fleet and Travel Management Division. For more information on the Bureau of Human Resources and Administration, please visit https://boa.sd.gov/fleet-travel/default.aspx .
Fleet & Travel Management manages approximately 3,300 light duty vehicles for the state of South Dakota, approximately 500 of these are motor pool vehicles. This position schedules and monitors maintenance and repair work for vehicles in a motor pool, maintains vehicle reports and recommend use of all vehicles. This position will also work with a large diverse group of customers and will help to facilitate their motor pool transportation needs.
This position is primarily an office environment but successful candidate will be required to assist with minor vehicle maintenance and snow removal.
Licenses and Certifications: NAFA - CAFM or CAFS preferred but not required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Knowledge of:
- principles, practices, and procedures of organizing, scheduling, and dispatching fleet vehicles;
- motor vehicle repair, maintenance, and life expectancy;
- motor vehicle records and documents;
- record keeping procedures;
- computer programs such as Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and web based applications;
- insurance process and filing claims.
Skill to:
- Perform outstanding customer service;
- understand digital communication and web-based environments.
Ability to:
- learn and manage a large size motor pool and web-based reservation program;
- communicate information clearly and concisely to others;
- maintain records and file information for easy retrieval;
- compare information and recognize discrepancies;
- coordinate, organize and schedule, where needed;
- comprehend, process, and/or prepare reports, records, and recommendations as related to fleet management.
