Position Title: Trust Accounting Specialist
Reports To: Director of Finance
Purpose:
The Trust Accounting Specialist will be responsible for posting payments from our consumers and our clients daily. They will also assist with other daily tasks in the Trust Accounting and Operations department as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Posting, reconciling, and scanning check deposits
- Uploading and reconciling payment files
- Ensuring all payment types are posted accurately (checks, cash, credit card, ACH)
- Assisting other departments with inquiries concerning payments and providing payment audits when requested
- Transferring phone calls received through our main number
- Assisting the operations team with various other tasks as needed (processing returned mail and/or scanning documents for example)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be a detail-oriented individual with a high degree of accuracy
- Some post-secondary education preferred but not necessary
- Previous experience in doing administrative and accounting functions
- Proficient at 10 key and strong computer skills
- Must possess solid verbal and written communication skills, always being professional and courteous
- Must maintain confidentiality of consumer and client information
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently when necessary
- Possess a positive attitude and able to work as a team player
