POSITION SUMMARY

The Vendor Manager will be responsible for facilitating and maintaining relationships between Rosenbauer America and our vendors. The Vendor Manager will strategically negotiate contracts, create and communicate standards for our vendors, evaluate vendors against those standards, and select the best available vendor for Rosenbauer America’s needs, with cross functional input from Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and others.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Conducts regular evaluations of vendor performance against standards given to Supply Chain to allow for strategic vendor selection and to spot issues at an early stage that need to be addressed.
  2. Research vendors to strategically identify, source, and evaluate new suppliers for both new products and replacement vendors for current products.
  3. Manage vendor relationships to ensure Rosenbauer America maintains a good working relationship with existing and potential new vendors.
  4. Negotiate and maintain contracts with vendors to ensure Rosenbauer America is receiving appropriate pricing on products.
  5. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

K

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or other related field required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related field preferred.
  • 0-3 years of previous Vendor Management experience required.
  • 5+ years of Vendor Management experience preferred.
  • Experience using reporting packages, databases (SQL based ERP Systems-Sage 500), and programming required.
  • Experience using Power BI and Microsoft Dynamics preferred.

Language:

  • Able to read and interpret business, scientific, and technical documents.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Able to effectively negotiate.

Math:

  • Must be able to input mathematical equations into Excel to show information like interest, depreciation, and statistical information like regression models.

Computer:

  • Able to perform at an intermediate level in Microsoft Suite.
  • Able to work within an ERP system, specifically Sage 500.

  • Able to deal with problems involving a variety of variables in standardized situations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
