Job Description

SUMMARY: EmBe Volleyball provides kids in 3rd through 6th grade an opportunity to learn the skills of the game in a recreational, non-competitive environment. We are looking for a passionate program coordinator to assist with the planning and implementation of our youth Volleyball program and clinics.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure EmBe's brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all interactions.
  • Actively embrace a culture of empowerment and an attitude of honesty and mutual respect. Maintain professionalism, take responsibility for actions, and mentor positive behaviors to children and coworkers.
  • Coordinate and implement fall and winter volleyball programs, including marketing, registration, scheduling, and general operation of the program.
  • Develop a coach guide for all volunteer coaches to ensure all participants are learning new skills.
  • Create and manage league game schedules and attend all games to ensure a fair and fun environment.
  • Recruit and manage all referees.
  • Liaison with the USF Volleyball Program and organize winter league clinics.
  • Conduct site visits of team practices to help coaches troubleshoot challenges and give recommendations.
  • Plan and implement the end-of-season tournaments.
  • Represent the EmBe and its programs at appropriate community, public, or professional functions.
  • Work with other youth program staff as needed.
  • Create and support an environment that teaches and empowers youth to learn and grow in their volleyball skills, teamwork and build confidence.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or previous experience in recreation, youth programming or a related field.
  • Previous volleyball experience, required.
  • Previous volunteer management experience, preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends to attend practices and games.
