About the Role
Oversee and lead the organization's mortgage sales. This role is crucial in developing and implementing strategic sales initiatives that drive revenue growth, expand market growth, and enhance First PREMERI Banks competitive position in the mortgage sector. Responsible for nurturing a high-performing sales team, setting ambitious yet achievable sales goals, and ensuring the team is motivated and supported to reach those goals. Additionally, plays a key role in maintaining strong relationships with major clients, stakeholders, and industry partners, while also analyzing market trends to adapt and innovate in sales strategies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Thorough understanding of the residential lending industry including existing and emerging compliance requirements, investor and agency guidelines and loan products and programs.
- Develop a high-performing mortgage sales team through effective training, coaching and compensation strategies. Ensure that loan origination activities comply with internal policy and procedures as well as with applicable regulations and laws.
- Support residential lending efforts, community outreach and education programs focused on improving the availability of mortgage loans to low-to-moderate income and minority borrowers in our assessment areas. Meet with community leaders and centers-of-influence as necessary to provide an overview of Bank products and services.
- Identify training and development opportunities that will assist employees in achieving enhanced performance and/or work-related objectives.
- Develops and maintains a high degree of visibility in the marketplace, along with developing relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and other business referral sources.
- Assists originators in developing marketing and sales strategies for new and existing business.
- Develop residential lending production and revenue forecasts, work with mortgage sales team and mortgage assistants in development of individual goals. Monitor individual and team loan pipelines.
- Responsible to develop and implement effective multi-channel promotion strategies.
- Works with management to support and accomplish mortgage department and bank objectives. Monitor current processes, procedures, systems, and related technologies to recommend efficiencies and improve customer experience.
- Interviews, hires, and trains new staff. Provides constructive and timely performance reviews. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in mortgage origination is required.
- Extensive knowledge of secondary-market programs, specifically FHLB, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, FHA and USDA is required.
