Weekend Shift Highlights:
- Full time employment and benefits working 3 days a week
- Scheduled hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 32 hours per week - Paid for 40 hours
Objective: The Line Tech position is part of the manufacturing team and will oversee the overall operation and manage the personnel and schedule of assigned machining lines. This person should possess advanced technical skills and proactively achieve and seek out those assigned technical obligations as they occur. The Line Tech sets the tone for the assigned lines and needs to make fact based decisions keeping safety, quality, schedule, and cost in mind at all times. This individual must have exceptional organizational, communication, leadership, team building, and multitasking skills and performs well under pressure. The Line Tech provides motivation, feedback, and structure, and sets the direction for the entire team. Should recommend, initiate, and implement continuous improvement activities on an ongoing basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Possesses and maintains advanced technical knowledge of our machine operation, tooling, and setup operations.
- Leads and maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times; this includes helping with 6s activities on occasion. Works with the safety department to record, document, and fix any unsafe conditions.
- Manages day to day planning, operations, and problem solving to maximize production and product flow. Proactively communicates issues with manager and other applicable departments to minimize or eliminate lost production or downtime.
- Teaches/Leads subordinates to achieve a high level of detail, able to measure and visually identify nonconforming conditions and be able to document these instances.
- Leads with the investigation of Root Cause and Corrective actions when nonconforming conditions arise and ensures all documentation requirements are fulfilled, up to date, and changes are followed up on as effective and sustained solutions.
- Maintain high functioning working relationships with team members and communicates effectively across different work centers, shifts, and skill levels to aid or improve Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost.
- Actively and continually oversees the training, development, and follow-up of new or existing loaders to enhance their skills sets and build a stronger team. Recommends and communicates corrective action with personnel not meeting standards.
- Actively pursues aggressive work center and company goals by suggesting and implementing ideas to help achieve goals in collaboration with setup, programming, quality, or other departments as opportunities are identified.
- Sets the example for other team members and subordinates with a strong work ethic, attendance record, and quality of work on a continuous basis.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules, works with area supervisor to monitor and schedule labor needs to meet capacity requirements and minimize unnecessary overtime.
- Responsible for ensuring changes and modifications across the shop are properly communicated and trained to appropriate personnel. Supports, follows, and implements standard work and job instructions; audits processes and operators to ensure accuracy.
Skills and Specifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess intermediate computer skills
- Reading, writing, problem solving, and mechanical skills
- The ability to teach and train others as needed
- Individual must be able to work with little to no supervision after initial training period, showing a high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and excellent work ethic.
